There are a ton of how to articles.  When searching for stuff yourself, try adding Ubuntu 16.04 to your search so you are getting stuff for the current version of Ubuntu.

Re: Linux tips and tricks

Like most of you this is my first exposure to Linux.
I have been made aware that many manufacturing facilities use Linux language in there equipment controls.
to help me to understand at least the basics I acquired a basic Arduino board which is able to be programmed using Linux along with some associated equipment but to date have not made any progress.
Got a little confused because most of the programming informa I have information about Arduino uses cplus
if anyone else was thinking along this line this Wikipedia article may help some  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix
I'm also looking at some Add to dictionary articles and will post them after some screening
