Project - Installing another desktop environment
If you are interested in trying to install another GUI onto Ubuntu this is a good article. In this case it installs KDE Plasma. Before you attempt this you should have already gotten familiar with the Gnome interface that Ubuntu uses. Suggested customization would be to
change desktop background,
try moving the favorites toolbar,
maybe installing a screensaver.
