Coming this April of 2019, Build 1903 for Windows 10 will be adding the new feature of viewing your Linux files in file explorer, and the ability to edit those files with Windows command line. Doing so originally resulted in corrupted files or lost data.

My article talks about a Linux OS called Endless, it's formatted to have a similar layout to an android phone or tablet. With parental control features, it will make a great OS for learning environments like school systems and at home.
