ASRock Rack EPYCD8-2T ATX motherboard that accommodates a single EPYC processor.  This motherboard has plenty of connectivity with eight SATA 3.0 ports, dual M.2 PCIe slots, dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, and four PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots.  ASRock Rack officially supports this motherboard for Windows Server 2012/2016 as well as RHEL 6.9 / RHEL/CentOS 7, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11, and Ubuntu 16.04.

Vincross has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a modular “MIND Kit” robotics kit ranging from $89 for the Linux-driven, quad -A53 compute unit to $799 for a complete kit with servo controller, motors, battery, bases, sensors, lidar, and a mic array.  The MIND Kit aims to fill the gap between professional robotics kits and robot development kits aimed at children.

On tecmint they review 13 new distros for linux.  Some of the distributions that have not been reviewed yet may be worthy of consideration due to their great potential.  Another not so well-known feature of Distrowatch is a waiting list that consists of distributions: Not reviewed yet, With missing or faulty components, Without solid English documentation, Projects that do not seem to be maintained anymore.

Hackers have developed a new backdoor trojan, named SneakUp, that is a  malware that is currently distributed to Linux servers mainly located in China. The backdoor for the first time three weeks ago, on January 14, SpeakUp also comes with a built-in Python script that the malware uses to spread laterally through the local network.

Linus Torvalds announced the release of Linux 5.0-rc1, an update for the Linux kernel with improvements to CPU and GPU and in addition to support for AMD’s FreeSync display, it also comes with support for Raspberry Pi Touchscreen.

Void Linux is an independently developed, rolling-release, general-purpose operating system.  Void includes its own package management system and is one of the first distributions of Linux to switch to LibreSSL by default, replacing OpenSSL when developers forked from OpenSSL in 2014.

AMD Radeon 7 will support Linux out of the box giving a jump to the Linux gaming world and is good news to windows-hating PC builders. Previous versions of AMD did not come with Linux support standard, an update would be required to run the card on s Linux machine.

Article is about antivirus being required/needed on linux. Do to the repositories that you get updates an new software from on a linux system there is no need for the majority of people to have an antivirus.  Windows gets all update form anywhere on the internet and not always trusted sites.
