Cisco has removed a password bug that enabled attackers with local access to login as root. This fix only applies to 12.1 and later builds. Potential attackers could utilize this vulnerability to login as a low privilege user and then elevating to root.

The release means that Skype can deliver its communication service to a wider range of Linux users, not just those who run Canonical's Ubuntu Linux distribution.

"Amazon Echo" has some competition. This open-source smart speaker called "Mark II" is privacy-minded. Unlike the "Echo" it forgets your queries to protect your privacy and also saves you from advertising bombardment.
