Feh: The Image Viewer For Your Terminal:

Feh image viewer is an easy to install, lightweight utility that can be accessed from the terminal.  It can be used to display images in several different ways.  1)  Slideshow-opens a new window, and displays each image, 2) Montage-shows a list of thumbnail images, 3) Index-thumbnail images with file names under each image, 4) Multi-Window-can open the images in separate windows, and 5)List mode-lists the images and their details.

Seems like a great way to work through any pictures/images in your directories or folders.
