One IT Tech was (allegedly) responsible for Equifax breach

https://www.engadget.com/2017/10/03/former-equifax-ceo-blames-breach-on-one-it-employee/

I know we don't want a million Equifax articles, but I call this explanation a pile of bullshit. You have only one guy responsible for applying mission critical security updates? Can't there be someone else who can at least look over and say "hey, this software is out of date"? The article even brings up that they ran automatic vulnerability scans, and after running on March 15th, a similar scan was never performed again. Why not a weekly scan? Did it fail to pick up the fact that your stuff was out of date every single time?

I'm trying to contain myself but every single thing about this is so stupid it's hard not to start yelling at the top of your lungs about it.

You know me as Erik Matthew Herrick in class, I sit in the back and find interesting articles.
