Tech company Pine64 has been developing a cheap Linux smartphone and recently announced they have prototypes and plan to ship development kits in early 2019, and have phones ready for customers by the end of the year. Phone Specs: SOPine compute module with an ARM Cortex-A53 quad-core processor, a 1440x720p IPS display, 5 MP rear camera, 2 MP front camera, 2GB LPDDR3 RAM, a 32GB eMMC module. Pine64 plans to provide abilities to allow users to disable components such as cameras, speakers, and wireless components for control of privacy.

Linux servers are the target of a new crypto-mining campaign in which a malware implants a backdoor Trojan by exploiting known vulnerabilities in six different Linux distributions.  The malware has been seen targeting servers mainly in Latin America and Asia, including machines hosted by Amazon Web Services and Mac devices. There is currently no way for anti-malware software to detect and stop these attacks.
