Whole home ad blocking
This guy has several videos that look interesting to Linux users. One is FreeNAS, the other is setting up a Raspberry PI as a router to block ads etc.

This is a better article explaining the benefits of using Pi-Hole. In particular it mentions that loading a website with the ad blocker reduces the number of DNS requests by 80 percent. This would really help on slower networks. I think I might have to setup one of these at home.
