Re: Security Class Article #6 Due Wednesday November 13th.

Recently, a Russian hacking group known as "Turla" attacked dozens of countries, disguised as hackers from other countries. The group was believed to be working for the Russian government's own FSB. Russia and Iran are known to be the biggest threats in cyber security today. These attacks were carried out to appear as Iran's own hacking group APT34, a part of the Iranian government.

Re: Security Class Article #6 Due Wednesday November 13th.

This I found interesting considering we've talked so much lately about penetration testing, lock picking, etc.  This article definitely makes one "think" before considering an occupation in cyber security in the future.  There is a lot that still needs to be done in paving the way in this field.

CEO of a crypto currency exchange dies with the only key to the companies assets. More than 100,000 people have essentially lost their money totaling to 190 million.  A Halifax judge is giving them a 30 day window to get access to the funds before people can start doing lawsuits.

As Quantum computers rise, a recent survey says Quantum computing is a cybersecurity threat. Cybersecurity professionals have stated that these computers will be able to crack even the most sophisticated types of encryption making their jobs harder if they get attacked. When Quantum computing becomes practical it will only make Cybersecurity experts jobs harder.

zombieland2 targets the (TSX) feature in the Intel processors. using this vulnerability local attackers or malware can easily steal information. Zombieland2 works against older and newer Intel processors.Encryption keys, passwords and billions of device owners could be at risk. some researchers at a university discovered it. It turns out not to be as bad as they said it was for a patch of it came out Tuesday from Intel themselves.

Britain's Labour Party suffers second cyber attack in two days

The political party was targeted by a "sophisticated and large-scale" DDoS attack twice in two days, the second attack this last Tuesday 11/12/19.

The party has not said who it suspects is behind the attacks, but said it was confident there was no data breach. They have not said which digital platforms were targeted, but it is understood some were election and campaign tools, which would contain details about voters.

So in this article is about making some sort of a money handling collaboration between Google and Citigroup. However it does mention a collaboration that Google and Apple did over a digital wallet.
