Post your articles here.... I might suggest something BSD related since we are playing with FreeBSD right now...

Here is a start... 20 Things to know about each system.  Linux vs. BSD.  We are somewhat familiar with Linux so you should be able to make sense of the article.

This is a short video about running FreeBSD on the Dell Optiplex 990. The college happens to be surplussing the 990 so it would be easy to experiment with FreeBSD on a 990 in class. I also attached a guide to the FreeBSD installation process.

FreeNAS 11,3 Release U1 is the first maintenance release of 11.3. It includes almost a hundred fixes and improvements for both FreeNAS and the upcoming TrueNAS. Improvements include work to the snapshots, replication, and directory service features, as well improved support for encrypted pools, an update to Samba to address CVE-2019-14907, (a crashing bug effecting Samba version 4.0 and later.) and other visual UI refinements.

This theory being tried on for the benefit of a few research papers at The University of Texas might be a win.  The idea is to let the criminals trying to steal data, in instead of keeping them out.  Hoping to discover the tricks of their trade, and uncovering details on the why, how, where instead. Giving light to better inform on how to keep them out in the future.

Microsoft previews Microsoft Defender ATP (Advanced Threat Protection) to run on Linux servers. Microsoft wanted to protect all operating systems on a network that would include Linux operating systems. It's mainly to prevent, detect, investigate and respond to Linux servers and network threats.

Re: Article #7 Due Monday March 2nd!!!

here’s an installation guide for what the article refers to as FAMP, it seems Apache can be ran on FreeBSD and seems relatively simple aswell. I thought it was cool that Digital ocean posted the article as they are one of the bigger cloud web service providers. I wonder if Digital Ocean uses FreeBSD for their cloud OS, learning cloud services and their installations are key to new technologies because people don’t need to run services on their own hardware anymore.

Yes this article seems very interesting Hackers are using Linux Kernal Drivers to attack cloud Server.
That malware is called Cloud snooper what it does establishes a communication that bypasses the server from linux and going straight attacking the firewall.
Which in result the attacker uses a in band signaling method to hide the command script hidden in the regular networks.

As Linux gains popularity, so to do its abilities expand. These are Linux distros made specifically for gaming and included information are each distro's base (which flavor of Linux it was based on), the package format, the desktop environment, and the hardware minimum requirements. One of these distros, called game drift Linux, uses CrossOver which apparently provides OOB support for over 1200 Windows games, but the software requires an activation key to be purchased before use. Unfortunately, the article didn't discuss CrossOver very much but I did find their website which gives a short summary
