US House Recommends 'Zero-Trust' Model for Insider Data Access

To prevent another major hack, federal agencies have established a “zero-trust” system. The system treats government employees the same way it would with foreign attackers, everyone is treated as threat. Stricter controls were recommended to agencies when they allow access to computer networks to employees and government contractors to avoid hacks. A famous example is Edward Snowden. He gaining access to the NSA’s classified documents and other areas for his IT contractor status. . The primary cause of data breaches experienced by companies was the careless employee (56%), followed by the lost or stolen devices (37%).
