I thought it would be interesting to know what other things run on Linux. I was somewhat surprised to find out that it is used in cars and motorcycles, but only somewhat because Dave had already mentioned it to us. I was more surprised that San Francisco had developed a new Linux-based traffic controller that meets with the ATC standards.  Now that's a large job with many lives on the line every day. I would love to tell you more but then you would not have to read it yourself.
Thanks

Article is about antivirus being required/needed on linux. Do to the repositories that you get updates an new software from on a linux system there is no need for the majority of people to have an antivirus.  Windows gets all update form anywhere on the internet and not always trusted sites.

The 6 myths that scare people away from using Linux. Many people are given the impression that Linux is hard to install, most software is not compatible, is less secure than OS or Windows, is just for experts/techies, not reliable and no support and that total cost of ownership is higher. One of the largest myths among these six is that Linux is less secure then other operating systems, when in fact quite the opposite is true. Due to Linux having far less users compared to Mac OS and Windows it makes it a less appealing operating system for hackers to attack or create viruses for.

https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/microsoft-azure-sphere-os-based-on-linux-not-windows/

Microsoft is using a custom build of Linux OS in their recently release Azure Sphere, a platform for the "Internet of Things". Azure Sphere uses microcontroler units (MCU) built by Microsoft, but running a version of Linux OS.

Microsoft says they went with a Linux-based OS because it is open source and open to innovation by the open source community, and also because it can work with any cloud, not just Azure.
