Setting up "snapshots" in Linux

So in windows you have the ability to create restore points to revert your system back to a place where the OS was working correctly. In Linux you can do the same thing by installing a program of your choice that creates "snapshots".  Here is a link that explains how it works and gives you some programs to allow you to take snapshots of Linux in case you need to roll back to a time when the OS wasn't having problems.
