In a 2015 murder case in Bentonville, Arkansas prosecutors requested Echo recordings for vital information pertaining to to the case. Amazon fought under The First Amendment, but the defendant said it was OK to release his information. The court case is currently going on. For conspiracy theorists, these questions remain: How much information is Amazon keeping on us?  What is being done with the data?  What happens if Amazon gets hacked? Can The Echo record the consumer without saying, "Alexa"? Now, a new Echo, with a camera, is set to release with the potential to take photographic data of the consumer. The Echo is a good tool for Amazon on data gathering.
