Even the CVV2? Several months ago GameStop put an end to a five month long hack. This was all done from GameStop’s website. A third party payment company was invaded with malware and customers’ card information was accessed. All of the information was available all the way down to the CVV2, which is the three digit code on the back of a debit or credit card. Online merchants aren’t supposed to store those numbers, but the malware written was still able to obtain them. The company has advised customers to check for abnormal transactions and contact their banks.
