UK Gov. seeks to ban end-to-end encryption

https://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/07/14/gov_says_new_home_sec_iwilli_have_powers_to_ban_endtoend_encryption/?mt=1468494499944

Well, maybe ban is a harsh word, but the new powers that are being put through is that the UK government wants to have the ability to decrypt any communication they feel like. End-to-End cannot be decrypted by the encryption provider, so it would technically be illegal if this was put through.

I don't care how many terrorists are using it, though, card readers in just about every shop in the world use End-to-End to authorize debit/credit card transactions, it's a massive part of Point-of-Sale machines, so I'm not giving up my debit card just because you can't be arsed to find criminals the old fashioned way.

You know me as Erik Matthew Herrick in class, I sit in the back and find interesting articles.
